In the last pack of the Red Sands Cycle, Crimson Dust, the situation on Mars becomes more dire. Members of “The Crimson Dust” believe that their leader is a reincarnation of an early settler of Mars. The Crimson Dust fight for Mars independence, want humans to use g-mods and cybernetics to better adapt to the conditions on the planet, and sometimes pursue their ends with terrorist violence. Corps like NBN use this as an excuse to step up security that would actually be used against the Clans and Runners. Meanwhile, all of the Big 4 factions continue to turn challenges into profit.
