In 110AD, Emperor Trajan – declared optimus princeps (“best ruler”) by the Senate – oversaw the peak of the Roman Empire’s strength. In Trajan, players try to take advantage of this moment by claiming power for themselves. To spread their influence across various areas of Roman life, players can take six different actions. The game is played over four quarters of a year, each with four rounds. At the end, the player with the highest points wins.
