Based on Aesop’s Fable, Hare and Tortoise is a strategy game that pits players against each other in a race. Players choose an animal, each with its own strengths and rules. Considered an innovative mechanic at the time, players decide how to manage their resources (carrots) and must spend them wisely in order to move. Notably, Hare and Tortoise was the first game to win the Spiel des Jahres award back in 1979.
