Ankh: Gods of Egypt is a mythological showdown where players become Egyptian gods vying for sole devotion. The premise: Egypt is transitioning from polytheism to monotheism - only one god will survive the spiritual upheaval.

Each player chooses a unique deity with special powers:
- Anubis: traps enemy warriors in the afterlife, using their souls to gain strength and resources.
- Amun: thrives in contested chaos, resolving more battle cards during conflict events.
- Isis: protects nearby warriors from death, making her army resilient and hard to remove.
- Osiris: creates a Netherworld where fallen warriors can resurrect and rejoin the fight.
- Ra: gives forces radiant tokens that increase devotion when victorious.

These differences deepen as players unlock more Ankh Powers, tailoring their deity’s abilities even further. So it’s not just about who you choose to play, it’s how you shape them.

Worth noting: the game shines brightest when played with more than two players… in 3+ player games, two trailing gods on the devotion track can merge into one, combining powers and sharing control. Love it or hate it, the merge mechanic brings a redemption arc that really shakes things up.

If you enjoy ancient themes - and a bit of Game Night drama - Ankh is a standout choice.
